The Water Council is a global membership organization dedicated to solving critical water challenges by driving innovation in water technology and advancing water stewardship.

Built on more than a century of freshwater innovation in southeastern Wisconsin, we have coalesced one of the most concentrated water technology clusters in the world from our headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Our work and reputation now spread across the country and around the globe.

Hand in hand with water technology innovation, we also promote responsible and sustainable organizational use of water through our water stewardship programs.

The Water Council is the only organization in the world focused on water innovation and stewardship. Both elements are critical to solving global water problems.

Driving Freshwater Innovation

A Global Innovation Network

Innovation is only as strong as the network behind it. We connect and convene a global network of water innovators, providing support programs, tailored networking opportunities and the collaborative partnerships needed to drive solutions to the world's most pressing freshwater challenges.

Advancing Water Stewardship

Water Risk is Business Risk.

As climate change strains freshwater resources worldwide, we help organizations of all sizes and sectors build operational resilience, reduce water-related costs and take credible action. Our approach, rooted in internationally recognized best practices, takes organizations from understanding their water risk to delivering credible commitments, measurable outcomes, and transparent reporting.
